Dear Friend,
A Moment of Gratitude
This morning, as I sat quietly reading, a wave of gratitude washed over me. I found myself reflecting on where I am today—a place of security, purpose, and peace. It’s a feeling that still catches me by surprise because, not so long ago, I wasn’t here. In fact, I couldn’t have imagined being here.
Lost and Searching for Direction
For years, I felt adrift, unsure of who I was or what I was meant to do. There was a time when it seemed like everything in my life was unraveling at once. My marriage had fallen apart, and I was wading through the storm of divorce and a custody battle. I was lonely, searching for connection in all the wrong places, chasing validation that always seemed out of reach.
The weight of it all was suffocating—struggling to be the mom my children needed, feeling unworthy of anything good, and believing I had to handle it all on my own. Adding to the ache, I was far from my parents, too far for the comfort of a quick visit when I felt most alone.

The Decision That Changed Everything
And then, I made a decision.
It wasn’t easy, and it didn’t come without doubts, but I decided it was time for me and my children to move back home. I needed the support of my parents, and I needed to believe that starting over was possible.
I’ll never forget the moment I shared my plan with my mom and dad. Their response was nothing but love and reassurance: “Come home.” No timelines. No conditions. Just the open arms I desperately needed.
Taking the Leap of Faith
But even with their support, it was a leap of faith. I had a stable job, the kids were finally settling into their routines, and I had commitments that made picking up and moving feel impossible. Still, I couldn’t shake the sense that this was what I needed to do.
Little by little, the pieces started falling into place. I was released from my apartment lease without penalty. I gave my notice at work and left on good terms. The logistics worked out, but not without challenges. My kids? They were not thrilled. It wasn’t an easy transition for them, and navigating their frustration added another layer to my guilt and worry.
But as hard as it was, deep down, I knew I was doing the right thing.

The Start of My Transformation
Looking back, I see now that this was the beginning of my transformation. It was the first step toward becoming the woman I am today—more confident, grounded, and aligned with my purpose.
That step wasn’t perfect, and the road ahead wasn’t smooth. I’ve faced more setbacks and obstacles than I can count. But each one taught me something new about myself—my strength, my resilience, and my capacity to grow through the hard stuff.
Your First Step Starts Today
Friend, if you’re standing at the edge of a decision, wondering if you should take that first step, let me encourage you: Do it.
It might feel overwhelming. You might not even know what your first step looks like. Maybe it’s taking time to figure that out, or maybe it’s finally acting on something you’ve been dreaming about but too afraid to pursue.
Whatever it is, trust that your journey begins with just one step.
Yes, it will be scary. Yes, it will challenge you in ways you’ve never imagined. But every step forward will bring you closer to the life you’re meant to live—a life where you feel at home in your purpose, where you’re growing into the person you’re meant to be.
There will be obstacles. There will be doubts. But let those challenges remind you that you’re moving in the right direction. Growth is never easy, but it’s always worth it.
My Challenge to You
So here’s my challenge to you: Be bold. Take the step.
And when you do, I hope you’ll share it with me. Tell me about your first step, your wins, and yes, even your stumbles. I want to cheer you on through it all because every single effort brings you closer to the life you want.
Your First Step: Where to Start
If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of where to begin, here are a few small but powerful steps you can take today:
- Reflect on What You Need – Take a few quiet moments to ask yourself: What’s missing in my life? What do I truly want? Write down your thoughts in a journal.
- Identify One Small Action – Big changes start with small steps. What is one thing you can do today to move closer to your goal? Maybe it’s having a conversation, researching options, or setting an intention.
- Seek Support – You don’t have to do this alone. Who in your life can encourage or guide you? Reach out to someone who has your best interests at heart that can provide accountability.
- Trust Yourself – Doubt will come, but remind yourself that you are capable. Every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.
- Commit to Taking Action – Choose one thing from this list and do it. Then, celebrate the fact that you’ve started!
Remember, it’s not failure if you keep going. It’s progress. So stay on your path, stay encouraged—you got this.
With love and encouragement,
